Blog vs Wiki




     Blog and Wiki are great tool for people to use and get information. It is concise and explicit for everyone. Blog is a personal management website authored by one person, you can posting articles, pictures, videos, and share information. Use these to record or express your personal emotions. As long as the content is legal. Blogs, on the other hand, are more personalized. It is based on what a person (usually the writer) feels about his/herself and the surrounding environment.

     Tumblr, is one of the most popular blogs for young people to share their interests and/or likes/dislikes. Tumblr blogs can represent expression, social interaction and personalization.  It is a little different from the traditional blogs, in that people can repost content from other people’s blogs. The user of blog can share their thoughts. People comment on reposted content, allowing for further discussion and collaboration. These blogs connect people’s interpersonal relationships with personal interests and hobbies to a whole other level by enabling more direct discussion and collaboration.


     Wikis, on the other hand, can be edited by all the people around the world. Anyone can change the information that are posted on a Wiki. Wikis are more like an online encyclopedia. They share information and knowledge. Base on the articles “An Internal Wiki that’s Not Classified” diplomacy is one of the most popular Wikis for the state department. When these users post the incorrect information the technology person can find out the IP of this user. Because anyone can edit articles, wikis need to have strong measures to ensure the authenticity of the information. Therefore, the new use have to be careful when they edit the information, if they make a mistake it will destroy all other persons achievement.
